Ephesians 5:1-2 - “Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” Brought to you by BibleGateway.com. Copyright (C) NIV. All Rights Reserved.
24Meanwhile a Jew named Apollos, a native of Alexandria, came to Ephesus. He was a learned man, with a thorough knowledge of the Scriptures. 25He had been instructed in the way of the Lord, and he spoke with great fervor and taught about Jesus accurately, though he knew only the baptism of John. 26He began to speak boldly in the synagogue. When Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they invited him to their home and explained to him the way of God more adequately.
Acts 18:24-26 NIV
The Bible has many fascinating examples of how we are to develop fellowship in the growing knowledge of our Lord Jesus. Here in Acts we read of Apollos who was very learned in the scriptures and was teaching about Jesus with accuracy, yet he still needed a deeper understanding. Apollos was a guest to the city and doubtless had any personal relationships within the “church”. Priscilla and Aquila provided the help he needed but they must have felt it was much more practical and personal to invite them into their home for further instruction.
We at FBC are taking this Biblical example to the extreme.
We would like you to experience
“Bringing It Home”
A new concept, derived from an old principle.
We have asked some of our leaders to open up their homes for explanation and application of God’s word.
The hope is that you, your family and friends would attend these home group meetings and enjoy the food, fun and fellowship in an atmosphere that’s more relaxed and personal.
We will only operate these meetings on a short term bases as a trial ministry in our community – we need you to support this effort by taking part in this experience. Be expecting your invitation to a “Bringing It Home” group in your neighborhood.
God bless,
Brother Scott
